Hi, I’m Marie, I am French-Canadian and even though this blog is written in English, feel free to leave me comments in French.

I can remember having an interest for cooking at a young age. When I was about 10 years old, I wanted to surprise my older teenage brother and his girlfriend by making their school lunches. I was heartbroken when I was told that my baloney sandwiches stuffed with pickling spice were absolutely disgusting. Fortunately, I grew up and got much better at making sandwiches.

I have started photographing my culinary experiments in 2009 although they were pretty, I was never satisfied by the fact that they mostly came from boxes and kits. At the end of 2010, after being married for a month, I got pregnant with Lo├»c. I started to have uncontrollable cravings for delicious foods but refused to eat the “unpronounceable” ingredients that were found in the kits that I normally used, so I started baking from scratch. From then on, I learned more and more about food and became┬ápassionate about baking and cooking for my family and loved ones.

In February 2012, I decided to start this blog to record my attempt at food photography. I am trying to better understand my camera but I am confident that I will get better as I continue and laugh about my crappy photography/design later.
