French-Canadians love french fries! I mean, we even designed a disgustingly-delicious dish to prove our endless love of it. The only problem is that it is horrible for your health and probably shaves 5 years off of your life per serving. But what can I do? I mean, it’s in my blood isn’t it? to love French fries that much? Yes, yes it is. However I found a trick; instead of deep-frying my fries, I oven bake them. I honestly can’t see much of a difference in the taste.
- 1 potato per person
- 2-3 tbsp olive oil
- Preheat your oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet (or two) with parchment paper.
- Wash and cut your potatoes, length wise into 1/4″ sticks.
- Place your potatoes on the baking sheet(s), sprinkle with olive oil and salt and toss.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, toss the fries halfway through.
